Don’t Miss Our Presentation at the Esri GeoConX Conference
October 29, 2019
Magnolia River’s Mike Adornetto will be presenting with Chesapeake Utilities Bryan Bloch on how Delmarva Natural Gas is integrating Enterprise GIS with their WMS and CIS business solutions.
Integrating your GIS with the Enterprise, an incremental approach for real-time integration
9:00 – 9:45 a.m.
Delmarva Natural Gas, A Chesapeake Utilities Company (DNG) and Magnolia River Services developed an incremental approach for integrating DNG’s gas distribution GIS with their Work Management System and Customer Information System. To achieve our goal we implemented a start small approach and then added in functionality with multiple phased iterations. The result was an integrated system that when a critical infrastructure event is captured in the field with Collector for ArcGIS, it immediately and automatically creates a Work Order in the WMS. It then communicates this information to the CIS to inform customers if required. This project involved solving the challenges of defining requirements, mapping data flows, determining data ownership and eliminating redundancy. In addition, it delivered a scale-able and sustainable approach to sharing data across enterprise systems.
